Our Story
Welcome to Blue Collar Livin!
Hi, My name is Jim and I am the CEO & Founder of Blue Collar Livin.
A little about who I am: I was raised by a father who did both factory work jobs & truck driving. He eventually retired and finished his career as a member of the Teamsters Union Local 142. My mother worked in the medical field along with raising 4 children. After high school I knew I had to find something to work for me career wise because I knew college was not for me. I wanted to go to work and do something that created a final product. I started off in a wire draw factory in Kouts, Indiana and eventually moved over to a union job at the steel mill in East Chicago. At the steel mill I began as a laborer and eventually became an overhead crane operator. Years later I had the idea to relocate to Florida. Since there were no steel mills in Florida I took on a new career as a truck driver just like my father, to provide for my family. It was during this time as a truck driver, driving across the country, that the idea of Blue Collar Livin was born. Though I am not certain my days on the road are over, I am currently comfortable as a boat captain and growing the Blue Collar Livin brand. I support the blue collar workers through respect and by encouraging the younger generations to go into the trades instead of feeling like they have to go to college.
I started off Blue Collar Livin with a simple logo that was engraved on a leather patch and put on a snapback hat. Over the course of the last year we have multiple patch designs along with adding new color options into the hats. We have also added shirts to our apparel line that have different options of designs & colors. Everything I have done, all my shirts, all my hats etc is done in the USA. Over the past year we have taken on 2 new business partners who have the background & resources to help take Blue Collar Livin to the next level.

My business is here for the sole purpose to help unite the blue collar workers of America by offering them a great product to wear to represent that they go out every day & the sacrifices of their jobs. What I am proud of the most is watching a small town blue collar worker take an idea and turn it into a product that people could connect with. This product has created relationships with others who have helped the Blue Collar Livin brand expand. I enjoy being able to be in the public to tell my story to customers & supporters about how the Blue Collar Livin brand began.
